Taxal and Fernilee CE Primary School

Religious Education

At Taxal and Fernilee, we use the Derbyshire and Derby City agreed syllabus for our Religious Education.  

The RE curriculum focuses on more than just learning facts about different religions and cultures. It explores the meaning of human existence and provokes discussion about how different people think about God. 

Our RE lessons provide a safe space to discuss, experience and respond well to difference – a space where students can engage with controversial issues and learn to disagree respectfully with each other. This can play a key role in fostering good relationships between different groups within the school and in later adult life.
