Phonics
Phonics is the foundation upon which all learning in all subjects is built. We use the DfE validated phonics scheme ‘Twinkl Phonics’ which provides a complete systematic synthetic phonics (SSP) programme. It covers all the statutory requirements outlined on the 2014 National Curriculum and EYFS Framework. We teach phonics daily in our Reception and Key Stage 1 classes, supporting all children to become fluent readers as well as preparing them for the statutory phonics screening check in Year 1.
